Bill Burt, 65, of Webster City, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fosters. Reception will follow the funeral at Webster City Links Golf Course. William Wallace Burt, Jr. son of William and Hazel Maudlin Burt was born on May 13, 1946 in California. He received his education from the Webster City Community Schools, graduating in 1964. Following his education, he entered the U.S. Air Force. On September 4, 1976 he married Patricia L. Killeen at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Bill worked for Maudlin Construction, which was later purchased by Weaver Construction and then purchased by Martin Marietta, where he was plant manager in Gilmore City, for over 39 years. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pat Burt of Webster City; daughters, Deb (Paul) Cappello of Spring Branch, TX; Aarhn Burt of Coalville, IA; grandchildren, Abby, Emily, Nathan, and Kadyn; sisters, Kris Ackerman of Las Vegas, NV; Linda Hitt of Laguna Beach, CA; aunt, Betty Maudlin; cousins, Tim, Tom and Alan Maudlin Bill was preceded in death by his parents, uncles; Gayle and Wayne Maudlin; grandparents, Henry and Elsie Maudlin. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church; American Legion Post #191; and the Webster City Links Golf Course, all of Webster City. Bill's hobbies included golf, hunting, Iowa Hawkeye football, and sprint car racing. He loved to cook, travel and growing Orchids and Peace Lillies.
