Wanda Shaeffer, 91, passed away on January 1, 2014 at Willow Green Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Jay Amundson officiating. Burial will follow at South Marion Cemetery in Stratford. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center and will continue at church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wanda Mae Burgin was born in Iowa Falls on December 24, 1922 the daughter of William and Gwendola Burgin. She attended school in Iowa Falls, moving to Webster City in 1938, graduating from Webster City High School in 1940. On January 16, 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert E. "Bob" Shaeffer in Washington D.C. Bob and Wanda made Webster City their home owning and operating Bob's Korner Market from 1950 until 1964, when they relocated to northern Wisconsin. Until their retirement in 1983 they owned and operated Tiger Musky Resort and later Tiger Musky Trailer Park in Hayward, Wisconsin. Bob and Wanda had a passion for life and enjoyed many activities including music, dancing, golfing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing just to name a few. They wintered at the Voyager RV Park in Tucson, Arizona for many years. They enjoyed participating in and volunteering for the many activities at their winter home. They were crowned King and Queen of the annual Voyager Mardi Gras in 2004. Wanda is survived by her two daughters; Kathy (Bruce) Christianson of Irma, WI, and Patti (Darell) Larson of Mount Pleasant, WI.; grandchildren, Bob (Diane) Hayes of Mosinee, WI, Kris (Mike) Pearson of Wausau, WI, Leah (Matt) Rizzo of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Lindsay (James) Heinecke of Campbellsville, KY and Kyle Larson of Gulfport, MS; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Myranda Hayes, Morgan and Drew Pearson, Bella and Zachary Rizzo and Samuel Heinecke; sisters, Dorotha McGill and Sally Bauer and sister-in-law, Eleanore Burgin all of Centerville, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2004, three brothers; Douglas, Carl and LeRoy Burgin, brothers-in-law; Milton McGill, Derrald Bauer, Alton Berggren and sisters-in-law; Harriett Berggren and Zelpha Burgin.
