Victor J. Young, 67, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home in Webster City, under the care of his family and Hamilton Hospice. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fosters. Vic was born on May 5, 1943 at Omaha, NE, to Almon and Mary Seay Young. He lived and attended school in the Graettinger, IA. area until moving to Webster City in 1959. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. Vic and Barbara Staley were married on February 16, 1964 at the Asbury Methodist Church in Webster City. They are the parents of Mitchell and Colleen Young and Chad Young, all of Webster City, Theresa and Jeff Vanatter of Coralville, IA; 2 granddaughters, Olivia Rose Young and Zoe Alyssa Vanatter. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Marilyn Strain of Webster City; Shirley Rickard of Spokane, WA; Gary Young of Webster City; Terry Young of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elliott and Gordon Young; sister-in-law, Gloria Young; and brother-in-law, Harold Strain. Vic worked at Home Appliance and TV for 13 years, Farmland Industries in Fort Dodge for 9 years, and spent the last 27 years as Parts Manager at Webster City RV. Vic was an intelligent and loving man who enjoyed collecting, his dogs, Freddy and Patsy, Hawkeye Basketball, tinkering in his shop, and spending time with his family.
