Velda Mallow

Velda Mallow, 98, of Webster City, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Velda Dora Woodmansee, daughter of Thomas and Tressa Boehme Woodmansee, was born March 7, 1915, in Webster City. She received her education in Webster City. On March 14, 1931 she married Howard L. Mallow at Asbury Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Raske, Patricia Nilles, both of Webster City; Shirley (Marvin) Douty of Buena Vista, CO; Sherrill (Burdette Jr.) Bell of Webster City; son, Thomas (Sharyn) Mallo of Webster City; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great grandchildren; sister, Veda Woodall of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Howard, Donald and Albert Woodmansee, her sisters, Blanche Trampel and Mable Kennedy and sons-in-law; Leo Raske and Bernard Nilles. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cutting and sewing quilt pieces for the church, working on word finds, but most of all, spending time with her family.
