Shirley Algoe

Shirley Algoe, 79, of Webster City, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Rev. Jay Amundson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Shirley Smith, daughter of Virgil and Marie Johnson Smith, was born August 12, 1934 in Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School. On January 2, 1954 she married LuVerne Kenneth Algoe in Webster City. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1975. She was a lunch server at Webster City Schools and worked in food service at the Hamilton County Public Hospital before retiring in 1998. Shirley is survived by children, Kenneth Algoe and Matthew Algoe, both of Webster City; sisters, Margaret Craig and Barbara and Jerry Hadley, all of Webster City; brother, Richard Smith of Webster City and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Willson; brothers, Donald and John Smith.
