Salvatore Antimuro

Salvatore "Torry" Antimuro, 96, of Webster City, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Van Diest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Military rites conducted by American Legion Post #191. Salvatore Thomas Antimuro, son of Anthony and Josephine Antimuro, was born February 4, 1917 in Chicago, IL. He obtained a Masters degree in music from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He was enlisted into the US Army in 1941 until 1945. He was the music director for the Army Airforce band. He married Leona Radosta on October 27, 1945 in Fort Benning, GA. He taught band for many years with the Webster City Schools until retiring in the mid 1980s. Torry is survived by his son, Anthony Antimuro of Fairfield; daughter, Jo Ellyne Antimuro Croy of Trabuco Canyon, CA; brother, John (Camille) Antimuro of Chicago, IL.; sister, Angie Casciola of Chicago, IL.; and sister-in-law, Ardie Antimuro of Westchester, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona; his parents; and brother, Ernest Antimuro.
