Russell Hoversten

Russell A. Hoversten, 85, of Webster City, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. Burial will follow at the Williams Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center and prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Russell Arthur Hoversten, son of Willard and Mildred Wilson Hoversten was born on November 15, 1926 in Williams. He attended schools in the Williams area. He served honorably in the United States Army in Germany from 1950 thru 1952 during the Korean War. On January 24, 1954 he married Delores E. Miller at the Mulberry Center Church, north of Stonega. The couple farmed in the Williams and Stonega area until they retired in 2005, when they moved to Webster City. Survivors include his loving wife Delores Hoversten of Webster City; sisters, Phyllis (Lee) Bahrenfuss; Fern (Paul) Loughry both of Webster City; Fae (Eldon) Nicholson of Williams; Carol (Pat) Keane of Webster City; brothers, Earl (Dorothy) Hoversten of Webster City; Lyle (Carolyn) Hoversten of Williams; Larry (Margaret) Hoversten of Eagan, MN.; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Singer Hoversten of Webster City; Delma (Nick) McLaughlin also of Webster City; and he was blessed with many nieces, nephews and many friends. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Hoversten and brother-in-law, Paul Loughry. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #191 both of Webster City. Russell loved life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, wintering in Texas, fishing, hunting, and traveling. And he loved farming!
