Rosella Oberender, 80, of Webster City, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational - U.C.C. ,with Rev. Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Rosella Carol Meyeraan, daughter of Frank and Lydia Harms Meyeraan, was born July 8, 1932 on a farm near Grundy Center. She was one of nine children, was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Wellsburg, where she was an active member. She received her education in the Hubbard Public School. On April 12, 1951, she married Lyle Warren Oberender at Wellsburg. Lyle and Rosella resided in Washington, D.C., then moved to Franklin County area, in 1972, they started farming south of Kamrar. They retired and moved to Webster City in 2009. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Richard Tribolet of Story City; Joyce and Keith Peters of Hampton; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Gloria Oberender of Story City; Steven and Linda Oberender of Iowa Falls; Kevin Oberender of Kamrar; Neilan Oberender of Webster City; daughter-in-law, Kim Oberender Doolittle of Webster City; grandchildren, Tanner Tribolet; Rita (David) Bowman; Ryan (Jill) Peters; Rodney (Lacey) Peters; Kami (Matthew) Oberender-Haviland; Keri Oberender; Joby Oberender; Shayla (Bo) Ammerman; Tyler (Halli) Oberender; Kent (Allison) Nielsen; Alyssa (David) Flanagan; Becca Oberender; Scott (Kristie) Oberender; Jared Oberender; Chris Oberender; Nicholas Oberender; Erica Oberender; Livia Oberender; 19 great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews: sisters, Harriet (Clarence) Murra of Wellsburg; Charlene (Raymond) Crocheck of Boone; Leona (Lowell) Spieker of Farmer City, IL; Kay (Bill) Scholl of Carlisle; brother, Gary (Shirley) Meyeraan of Grundy Center; sisters-in-law Marilyn and Joyce Meyeraan; several nieces and nephews. Rosella was preceded in death by a son, Jerald Oberender; her parents; brothers, Vernon and Frank Meyeraan, Jr.; and sister, JoAnn Meyeraan. She was a member of the Jewell United Church of Christ, Garden Clubs in Jewell and Webster City, a former 4-H leader, Jewell Get-Together Club, Hamilton County Porkettes, Womens Society of Christian Service and also sold Avon for many years.
