Roger R. Kepler, 71, of Stratford, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Foster Chapel, 800 Willson Ave., Webster City, with Rev. Paul Avery officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday. Roger Raymond Kepler, son of Harold and Vera Davenport Kepler, was born September 17, 1942 at Webster City. He attended Webster City schools, graduating in 1962. He was united in marriage to Kathleen (Spark) Sweazey. To this union three children were born. He resided in Webster City and worked for the electrical company for many years. They were later divorced. In 1979, he moved to California and worked as a boiler operator for U.S. Gypsum. On October 15, 1999, he married Rosemary Ann Risetter at Hawthorn, CA. He retired in 2005, and moved back to Iowa, where they settled in Stratford the last couple of years. In his retirement, he enjoyed camping and being with his family. He is survived by children and step-children, Roger and Lisa Kepler, Jr. of Portsmouth, OH; Michael and Marlinda Kepler of Garden Grove, CA; Michelle Kepler of Fullerton, CA; Tony Baysinger of Belmond; Tonia and Mark Dorr of Leon; Trent and Lisa Baysinger of Anoka, MN; Teresa ands Paul Avery of Altoona; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (Joe) Coleman and Charlotte Johnson, all of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, James Baysinger in 1991; brother, Harold Kepler, Jr.; sisters, Marie Hanus and Lorraine Hanus.
