Robert Lynn (Bob) McCollough died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Southfield Wellness Community following a brief illness. Bob was born July 24, 1925, to McKinley and Mildred (Ferne) Riley McCollough here in Webster City, his lifelong home. Bob graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943 and immediately entered the military. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1943 to the end of World War II spending his last months in the Pacific theatre. Bob returned to Webster City following the war and began his lifelong career running McCollough's Foundry, now Seneca Foundry, a business started by his grandfather, W.A. McCollough. He married Ruth Fischer on June 29, 1947, and began a full, rich life that included serving his church, serving his community, and indulging his passions, especially spending time with his family, growing his business, and playing golf. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, his son Kirk (Cindy), his daughter Jennifer, his grandchildren McKinley McCollough and Katelynn McCollough, his brother John, and nieces and nephews Connie Sue (Jerry) Haidle, Blaine (Bonnie) McCollough, Linda Fischer, and David Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Donna, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ernie and Louise Fischer, and his sister-in-law Leola McCollough. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Family and friends are also welcome at the graveside service beginning at approximately 9:45 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster's Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28. In lieu of flowers, a memorial of your choosing may be made.
