Bruce Hunter, 93, of Webster City, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Foster Chapel, with Rev. Jim Norem of the Elim Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Robert Bruce Hunter, son of Robert and Margaret Lessels Hunter, was born April 8, 1919 on a farm south of Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system, graduating from Lincoln High in 1938. He farmed with his father, southwest of Jewell and raised purebred Shorthorn cattle. On February 17, 1946, he married Lila Mae Bever at Asbury United Methodist Church. The couple farmed for eight years northeast of Webster City and also farmed southeast of Stanhope. In 1983, they moved to Webster City. Besides farming, Bruce worked with the Hamilton County A.S.C. sealing corn and beans for many years, for area farmers. He retired in 1983. Mrs. Hunter died May 15, 2011. Bruce is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Dennis Thompson of Jewell; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Joan Hunter of Savage, MN; grandchildren, Mark and Kelly Thompson; Brian and Pauley Thompson; Schad and Amy Hunter; Kelley and Jason Harmon and Amber Lahti; great-grandchildren, Braden and Ryen Hunter; Bryce and Dane Thompson; Ada, Emerson and Audrey Harmon; Nailah and Oriah Mcghee; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Frances Magleby; nephew, Michael Magleby; several cousins, aunts and uncles in Scotland.
