Pamela Smith, 57, of Webster City, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Van Diest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday. Pamela Sue Erdman, daughter of Arthur and Jeanne McCurry Erdman, was born January 28, 1954 at Forest City, Iowa. She received her education in the Boone Valley Public School at Renwick. In 1970, she married Jack Stampka at Goldfleld. The couple resided at Goldfleld. To this union two sons were born. The couple were later divorced. In 1978, she started employment at Electrolux and moved to Webster City. She had worked at Electrolux for 14 years, Opportunity Village for 5 years, a para educator with Webster City Community Schools for 5 years and part time at K-Mart and Lena's Liquors. On June 20, 1981, she married Richard Dean Smith at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. Mr. Smith died in March of 2007. Pam is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amy Stampka of Webster City; daughter, Jordin Smith and special friend, Anthony Peck of Webster City; step-daughter, Stefanie Thompson and special friend, Ivan Conaway of Marshalltown; grandson, Harley Wood of Yankton, SD; sisters, Becky (Marty) Meyer of Davenport; Donna (Les) Janssen of Spirit Lake; Sharon (Doug) Greenfield of Fort Dodge; Jeri Brandau of Mason City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jeff Stampka in 1999. She was a member of the First Congregational - U.C.C., she enjoyed her family, sports events, golfing and of course, a little gambling. She also was a member of Civitan and was a part of the AA family, where she earned her 14 year chip this summer.
