Orval Rasmussen

Orval Rasmussen, 86, of Webster City, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Orval John Rasmussen was born October 20, 1928 in Williams to Otis and Rua (Carr) Rasmussen. He attended school in Williams. When he was 12 years old, the family moved to a farm near Williams. At age 18, the family moved to Hamilton County and farmed there. Orval entered the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. On June 13, 1954, he married Mary Weir of Clarion. They have two children, Susan Dowgiert of Lafayette, CO and Judy (Robin) Young of Webster City. Orval had four grandchildren, Alex and Jessica Dowgiert of CO, Morgan Young of Cedar Rapids and Madison Young of Des Moines. Orval enjoyed farming, custom baling and taking care of his cows and calves. He was preceded in death by his parents.
