Orien R. Sealine, 82 of Stanhope, fell asleep in death on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home. Private services will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for the family. Orien R. Sealine was born on April 1, 1931 in Webster City to Arnold F. and Rosa (Fish) Sealine. He graduated from Stanhope High School in 1949. He was a member of the basketball squad and also played first base on the runner up baseball team in the state tournament in the fall of 1948. On December 26, 1955 he married Betty A. Staebler in Stanhope. Orien will be deeply missed by his wife Betty of Stanhope; his children, Douglas D. (Ranae) Sealine of Jewell, Marshall O. (Carol) Sealine of Marshalltown, Timothy J. (Patti) Sealine of Stanhope and Rose Ann Christenson of West Des Moines; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Orien was a 4H member for 11 years and also served as a leader of the Marion-Webster Go-Getters 4H club. He was active in Farm Bureau, serving as County President at one time. Orien was inducted into the Ames Area Bowling Hall of Fame and also the National Bowling Hall of Fame for participation at the national level for 38 years. Orien was preceded in death by his Mother in 1938, his Father in 1987, his stepmother, Anna Sealine in 1998, his stepbrother, Stanley Hoversten in 2003, his stepsister, Gloria Hoversten in 2010, a son-in-law, Gary Christenson in 2006 and a grandson, Jamie Sealine. He was baptized in the mid 1940's in the Cedar River in Waterloo, thus became a member of The Iowa State Conference (Church of God). Following the cremation, he will be buried at South Marion Cemetery where he will await the return of Jesus: References: I Corinthians 15 and I Thess. 4: 13-18.
