Mavis Coleman, 81, of Webster City, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Richard Laird officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday. Mavis Darlene Johnson, daughter of Julius and Fern Dally Johnson, was born May 31, 1932 at Homer, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City in 1950. On September 4, 1953, she married Myrll Robert Coleman at Scottsbluff, NE. The couple resided at Kamrar. She had worked at the mink plant at Jewell and Farm Journal in Webster City. Mrs. Coleman is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Dorothy Coleman of Shellsburg; Monte and Peggy Coleman, Murray and Julie Coleman, all of Webster City; Marty Coleman and Denise McNew of Kamrar; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Steve Wilson of Ames, Monica and Eddi Parker of Whittemore; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Scott of Webster City and Shirley (Roger) Chalfant of Wenatchee, WA; sister-in-law, Kathryn Johnson of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Beulah Gordon; brother, Vernie Johnson; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Gordon and Vern Scott. She was a member of the New Testament Church of Christ in Webster City, Webster City Women's Club, Town and Country Garden Club, past treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered in the Hamilton County Hospital Gift Shop, Girl Scout Leader and Kamrar Coffee Club.
