Margaret M. Dakin, 89, of Webster City, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City with Pastor Michael Slininger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Faith United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Margaret May Boucher was born May 8, 1924, in Mitchellville, Iowa, the daughter of James and Stella Munson Boucher. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1942. On July 22, 1944 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Wayne Dakin. Margaret kept busy raising two children (Steven and Marsha) and working as a bookkeeper for several businesses. At age 69, she retired from Heller's Carbonic. She held various positions in her church, volunteered at the hospital auxiliary and voting districts, helped organize blood drives, and was involved in many other areas. She was a member of Women's Club, as well as Love Circle and Triple L of her church. She loved playing cards and belonged to three card clubs. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. One of her special trips was taking her grandson, Josh, to New York City. Margaret loved watching her grandchildren in their activities and growing into adulthood. She was thrilled to be a great-grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends. Margaret is survived by her children, Steven (Lesley) Dakin of Boone and Marsha (Paul) Gordon of Mason City; grandchildren, Andrew (Gina) Dakin of Ames, Angela (Robert) Thompson of Iowa City and Jason (Rebecca) Gordon of Ames; step-grandchildren, Anthony (Abbey Gessman) Grego of Denver CO and Ariel Grego of Ankeny; great-grandchildren, Mia and Evy Thompson and Wesley Gordon; sisters, Marion Eccles, Merna (Francis) Smith, Shirley Knoll; brother, James (Mary Ann) Boucher; several nieces, nephews and other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Dakin; grandson, Josh Dakin; brother, Robert Boucher; sisters, Virginia Thompson, Myrtle Grove, Helen Knoll, and Ruth Caquelin.
