Lila M. Nelson, 72, of rural Webster City, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Southfield Wellness Community. A Time of Sharing will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Foster Chapel with Rev. Stephen Meyer leading a scripture service. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Lila Mae Koestner, daughter of William Franklin and Lila Marie Wagner Koestner, was born May 1, 1941 on the family farm northwest of Webster City in Fremont Township. She was a member of the class of 1959. On December 28, 1974 she married John Edward Nelson on the family farm near Webster City. Lila was an Avon representative. She dearly loved selling Avon because of the products and meeting new friends. Lila is survived by her siblings, Rose Zedicher of Redwood Valley, CA, Karen (Glenn) Young of Le Roy MN, Don (Christine) Koestner, Dennis (Mary Ellen) Koestner and Dave (Bird) Koestner, all of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 31, 2005, and her brother, John F. Koestner on March 23, 2008 and special Aunt Vivian Charlson One of the joys of her life, was spending time with her family and step-family. After her John Nelson passed, Lila returned to her beloved family farm and enjoyed her flower gardens and furry friends.
