Leroy Wesselman

LeRoy Virgil Wesselman, 78, of Webster City, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:40 p.m. followed by the scripture service. LeRoy Virgil Wesselman was born on October 29, 1934, in Swea City, Iowa, to Benjamin and Caroline (Fuhler) Wesselman. He graduated from Titonka Community Schools. On April 21, 1954, he was united in marriage to Jane Menke at the Sacred Heart Church in Ledyard, Iowa. He was employed with Fuller Brush, JC Penney, Handi-Klasp, Kueens Trailer Ranch, and Frigidaire before retiring in 1999. He continued to have part-time jobs with Tasler Pallet, Vantec, and Briggs Woods Golf Course. He is survived by his children; Debbie (Jim) Landuyt of Huxley, Dale (Audrey Carr) Wesselman of Carmel, NY, Rita (Paul) Wolfgram of Webster City, Rick (Dawn) Wesselman of Denver, CO, Larry (Mary) Wesselman of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Cara (Nick) Helland and Eric (Kim Townsend) Landuyt, Travis (Lisa Bowers, fiance) Dally and Evan Wolfgram, Cole and Lauren Wesselman, Alex and Zach Wesselman; his brother, Ralph Wesselman of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Jane in 2005. LeRoy was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Webster City Jaycees and the Webster City Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and volunteering for the UDMO food pantry and U-Share. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.
