LaThella E. Madsen, 91, of Webster City, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Van Diest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. LaThella Ethel Short, daughter of Charles and Ethel Adams Short, was born April 27, 1921 in Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system. On January 8, 1938, she married Harold George Madsen. The couple were lifelong residents of Webster City. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Madsen is survived by daughter, La Del Iverson; son and daughter-in-law, Harold (H) and Sheri Madsen, Jr., all of Webster City; grandchildren, Monte Iverson; Brenda Hedeen; Debby (Madsen) Sitzmann and Todd Madsen; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Gembler; foster sister, Joan Kickbush; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mabel Mazanti; Alma Pelz; brothers, Dale, Howard and Baron Short; grandson, Joseph Alan Madsen. Lathella loved her family and especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Iowa play football and basketball. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on Sundays and loved to go fishing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and the Heart Foundation.
