Kenneth Gordon, 100, of Webster City, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Patrick Wiedemeier officiating. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Kenneth Everett Gordon, son of Lester and Ellen Gunderson Gordon, was born August 27, 1911 on a farm in Freedom Township, Hamilton County, IA, southwest of Webster City. He received his education in Webster City rural school district. On Feb. 26, 1938, he married Beulah Maxine Johnson at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. He farmed for many years southeast of Duncombe. They moved to Webster City in 1980, and he retired from farming in 1988. Kenneth served on the Flugstad and Highview Elevator Board for 24 years, and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Webster City where he served as a deacon and trustee. He also was a member of Webster County Farm Bureau, Mens's Birthday Club, and the Webster City Noon Kiwanis. Mr. Gordon is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Elaine and Mark Sullivan of Broken Arrow, OK., granddaughters; Becky Orton (Troy) Cretsinger of Norwalk, and Brenda Orton (Lee) Belt of Broken Arrow, OK., grandsons; Shane and Sarah Sullivan of Fremont, Neb., and Ryan and Julie Sullivan of Kansas City, Mo.; 12 great-grandchildren, brothers and sister-in-laws; Norman and Irene Gordon and Virgil and Mary Lou Gordon all of Webster City; sister-in-laws; Kathryn Johnson, Majorie Scott, and Mavis Coleman all of Webster City; Shirley (Roger) Chalfant of Wenatchee, WA.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah; parents; daughters, Janice Gordon Hayes and Ruth Gordon; and a brother Howard Gordon.
