Kenneth Flygstad, 84, of Webster City, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, with Rev. Ron Lotz officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Kenneth Leo Flygstad, son of Bankie and Myrtle Johnson Flygstad, was born June 16, 1929 on a farm south of Jewell. He attended country school by Duncombe and Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School. On August 26, 1950, he married Dena Meyering at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He was employed by Raven Millwork in Webster City. Kenneth served in the United States Army in Japan from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he farmed north of Williams and East of Webster City. He retired from farming in 1991 and moved to Webster City in 1996. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dena; son, Alan Flygstad of Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Carole (Richard) Flygstad Gougeon of Albany, OR; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Mildred Clair of South St. Paul, MN and Beth (Elwood) Lastine of St. Paul MN; and brother, Donald (Erma) Flygstad of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kenneth attended the Missionary Alliance Church at Blairsburg.
