Kelly R. Hubbard, 58, of Webster City, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Mercy Medical Center at Des Moines. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Pastor Suzie Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service on Monday. A tribute of service will be conducted by the Moose Fraternity. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Kelly Ray Hubbard, son of Francis and Doris Staley Hubbard, was born December 11, 1952 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system, graduating in 1972. From 1972 to 1979, he served in the 133rd Tactical Air Guard Unit based at Fort Dodge. On September 8, 1973, he married Marene Barker at Trinity Lutheran Church at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City where Kelly was employed by Hamilton County Secondary Roads since 1974. He is survived by his wife, Marene; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mike Carlson of Boone; Beth Hubbard of Stanhope; son and daughter-in-law, Brian (B. J.) and Brandie Hubbard of Webster City; grandsons, Matthew Hubbard of Boone; Jonathan and Jesse James Hubbard of Webster City; brothers and sister-in-law, Frank and Marilyn Hubbard, Jerry Hubbard, all of Webster City; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Bo) Barker of Emmetsburg; Elizabeth (Biz) and Eric Ouverson of Webster City; step-siblings, Diane and Rich Strong of Maple Hill; Carol Fisher of Webster City; Stacy and Chris Woodward of Estherville; Mike Ellis of Webster City; several aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, John Ellis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Phyllis Barker; brother-in-law, Jimmy Barker and sister-in-law, Mary Hubbard. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 191; the Webster City Moose Family Center for 37 years, holding many lodge offices and had been current lodge administrator for the past seven years. He received the high honor of the Fellowship Degree in the Moose Fraternity in 2002. He also belonged to the Moose Cornbelt Legion # 152 and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (Local Union # 2003). While his children were young, Kelly was also a bowling coach and a softball coach. In his free time the highlight of his day was spending time with his three grandsons teaching them many of his talents. His hobbies were attending NASCAR races, riding his motorcycle and tinkering in his garage.
