Joan Park

Joan A. Park, 83, of Des Moines, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City with Pastor Dave Simonson officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Joan Alma Hurst, daughter of George L. and Leona M. (Linnahon) Hurst was born on December 2, 1929 in Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City School System. On August 26, 1950 she married Lyle Park in Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City, Baltimore, MD, Boone and Des Moines. Lyle preceded her in death on June 14, 2005. She worked at Park Sharp Shop and Prairie Meadows. Survivors include her daughter, Lyla Park of Des Moines; grandchildren, Andrea (Mike) Gardner of Gainesville FL and Sara Hayes of Lexington, MO; great-granddaughter, Ainsley Joan Gardner; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Georgianna, Betty, Martha, Darrell and a brother in infancy. She enjoyed caring for her dogs, camping with family, making ceramics, and completing word search puzzles.
