Jennie Headley, 92, of Webster City, a former longtime Jewell area resident, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at Crestview Senior Living. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jewell United Church of Christ, with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and at the church after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Jennie Olson, daughter of Martin and Christiana Halverson Olson, was born December 5, 1918 at Randall. She received her education in the Randall Public School. She was baptized and confirmed in the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall. On March 26, 1938, she married Orville Russell (Pink) Headley at the Elim Lutheran Church. The couple farmed north of Jewell for many years, then moved to Jewell in 1958. She had also worked at the Hawkeye Mink Plant at Jewell and was a homemaker. Mr. Headley died February 28, 1991. Jennie moved to Webster City in 2004 and to Crestview Senior Living in September of 2007. Jennie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jim Bergeson of Webster City; grandson and granddaughters-in-law, Les and Kathy Herbert of Martinsburg, WV; Dixie Herbert of Lincoln, NE; step-grandsons and step-granddaughters-in-law, Jeff and Kathy Bergeson of Yankton, SD; Lance and Sylvia Bergeson of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Heather and Brandon Feighner of Radcliffe; Austin Herbert of Lincoln; Jeremy Herbert of Stanhope; step-grandchildren, Jason McDaniel of Lincoln; Nikki McDaniel of Lincoln; step-great-grandchildren, Adian and Jackson McDaniel; Evan and Kyle Bergeson; Annika and Lukas Bergeson; great-great-grandchildren, Alexis and Brandyn Feighner; sisters, Jeannie Rothfus of Little Rock, AR; Bertha Wakeham of Cherokee Village, AR; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Lee Herbert in 2009; sisters, Hilda Hart and Alvina Barkema; brothers, Magnus, Herman, Martin and Merlin Olson. She was a member of the Jewell United Church of Christ, where she was active in various functions.
