James Morgan

James E. Morgan III, 64, of Webster City, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center at Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Chapel, with Brian Cushman, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be in the McGuire Bend Cemetery, northwest of Stratford. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday. James Edward Morgan III, son of James and Yola Ford Morgan, was born May 14, 1947 at Baltimore, MD. The family moved to Webster City in 1956. He received his education in the Webster City school system. Following his education, James honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In August of 1980, he married Mary Haller at Assembly of God Church in Webster City. The couple resided at Sioux City where he drove for Supreme Carriers. They moved to Webster City and he continued with Supreme Carriers. He had also worked at Handi-Clasp in Webster City. In 2002, he retired because of failing health. Mr. Morgan is survived by sons, Patrick Sarmes of Pennsylvania; B. J. Pederson of Mason City; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine Ries of Mason City; Nancy and Andy Pinkele of Eagle Grove; Angela and Tyler Bruns of Fort Dodge; Amber Long of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Yola Sundin of Webster City; sisters, Sheila (Larry) Hoversten of Fort Dodge; Donna Capsel of Webster City; step-brothers, LeRoy Sundin, Don Sundin of Fort Dodge; Howard Sundin of Newell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Wendell Sundin and step-sister, JoAnn Sundin.
