James D. Kraft, 95, of Webster City, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. A private family graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15. James Dawain Kraft, son of John and May Bard Kraft was born September 12, 1915 at Madison, Iowa. He graduated from Ames High School in 1933. From 1943 to 1945, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. On August 11, 1940, he married Monna Louise Hughes in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The couple resided at Beaver Dam. In 1938, he started employment with F. W. Woolworth's, later becoming store manager. He retired in 1981 after 43 years of employment. Following his retirement, the couple returned to Webster City. Mrs. Kraft died July 2, 2009. Mr. Kraft is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Allen Anderson of Webster City; grandchildren, Jenni Anderson and companion, Wade Johnson; Jama and Chad Hisler; John and Tina Anderson; great-grandchildren, CJ and Keegan Hisler all of Webster City. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
