Jack Jones, 76 of Kamrar, died Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Presbyterian Church of Kamrar, with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday. Jack Dean Jones, son of Robert Jonas and Crystal Pearl (Lanham) Jones, was born November 1, 1936 in Livonia, MO. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1954. He married Anna May Smothers on June 1, 1958. They later divorced. On October 26, 1991 he married Lora Arlene (Tempel) Sweet in Barnum. He worked many jobs, including construction, Des Moines public schools, was a Bondurant police officer, Hy Vee and bus driver for Dart Bus. Jack is survived by his wife, Lora of Kamrar; his children; Shelia (Stan) Sprague of Bondurant, Brian (Marsha) Jones of Ankeny, Lori (David) Haines of Bondurant; a step-son, Denny (Dori) Sweet of Webster City; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Patty (Harold) Downing of Cedar Rapids; his brother, Ed (Cheryll) Jones of Bloomfield and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother James Jones. He was a member of the WC Senior Citizens and the Bondurant Lyons Club. He enjoyed golfing, driving his Model A, going to car shows and races, and attending his grandchildren's school activities. Memorials may be left to the family's discretion.
