Jack D. Hill, 77, of Stanhope, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City with Pastor Suzie Moore Officiating. Burial will be held at the Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Fosters on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Friday. Jack Douglas Hill, son of Ray and Arlene Brock Hill was born on June 26, 1934 in Webster City. He received his education and graduated from Stanhope High School in 1951. On August 28, 1955 he married Phyllis N. Grandgeorge at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. The couple resided on a farm northwest of Stanhope. They moved into Stanhope in 1966, but continued farming until his retirement in 1996. Jack had been residing at Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation since October of 2007. Survivors include his wife Phyllis of Stanhope; daughter, Jackie (Gary) Baker, Jr. also of Stanhope; sons, Doug (Rochelle) Hill of Stratford; Todd Hill of Boone; 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Elnor Rae Albert of Greeley, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jack Albert. Jack was a member of the Stanhope Parish Church, and was a former member of the Moose Family Center in Webster City. During school, he enjoyed participating in basketball and baseball. He enjoyed fishing with friends and family for many years in Minnesota, playing golf, billiards, camping, and traveling.
