Helen "Betty" Knoll, 92, of Webster City, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation for Betty will be held on Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Helen Elizabeth Boucher was born June 24, 1920 in Farrar, Iowa, the daughter of James K. and Stella A. (Munson) Boucher. On November 24, 1940, she married Howard George Knoll. He was killed in Germany during World War II. Betty then married his brother, Lee A. Knoll on June 8, 1946 at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City until 1971, when they moved to Gridley, IL with Hart-Carter. Following Lee's retirement they returned to Webster City in 1982. Betty was very proud to receive her GED in adulthood. She was a hot lunch cook for many years at Elm Park and then Sunset Heights Schools. Lee died April 27, 1996. She continued to reside in Webster City. Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Georgeanna (Wendell) McKenzie of Raleigh, NC and Linda (Bruce) Pergande of Webster City; grandchildren, Belinda (Matt) Wight, Jodi (Brendan) Connolly, Kyle Kepler and Mike Kepler, step-grandchildren, Joel (Lori) Pergande and Barb Pergande; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Marion Eccles, Ruth Caquelin, Margaret Dakin, Merna (Francis) Smith, Shirley (Sam) Knoll and James (Mary Anne) Boucher. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Virginia Thompson and Myrtle Grove and brother, Robert Boucher. Betty was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, she belonged to the Women's Society, the Triple L Sunday School and the Quilters of the Church. She was an honored volunteer for Compeer (Friends Forever) and was a helper to all. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith United Methodist Church in memory of Betty.
