Helen Gordon Harris daughter of Steven and Eva Butrum Gordon was born October 18, 1921 in Little Falls, Minnesota. She received her education from the Webster City Community Schools. On June 9, 1938 she married Robert H. Harris in Webster City. Helen worked for over thirty years at Hahne printing in Webster City until their closure. She also worked at Thompson Pharmacy for several years until her retirement. Mr. Harris died on October 1, 1993. Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rochelle Harris of Mitchellville; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Miles Butler of Webster City; grandchildren, Jodi Cue, Matthew Butler and Lenette Strand; six great grandchildren; and her aunt, Minerva Kaye of Red Wing, MN. In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene, David and John Gordon; sister, Mary Gordon and grandson, Robert Lee Harris. Helen was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was very active in the Business and Professional Women's Group where she was president in 1974-75. Her memberships also included the American Legion Auxiliary, Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary, Chapter E.L. of the P.E.O., United Methodist Women where she served in several offices, and the P.T.A. all of Webster City. Helen also served as a Youth Fellowship Counselor, assisted with the White Fox Boys Club and she remained active in children's issues. She loved playing cards and BINGO with her friends and family.
