Harold Gerard

Harold Arthur Gerard, 87, of Lehigh, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Lehigh United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City. Harold Arthur Gerard, son of Edward Joseph and Nina Paulina (Clausen) Gerard, was born May 23, 1925 in Duncombe, Iowa. In November of 1947, he married Delores Young. She passed away in 1956. In July of 1958 he married Carolyn Muterspaugh. They later divorced. He owned and operated Gerard's Service Station in Lehigh from 1949 to 1997. Harold is survived by his children; Linda Gerard of Fort Dodge, Renee Lundgren (John) of Virginia, Denise Gerard (Tim) of Sigourney, Marcy Gerard of West Des Moines, and Dana (Matt) Estlund of Duncombe, 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Bruce Runyon of Lehigh. Harold was a member of the Lehigh United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife; his daughter, Mary Runyon; and his brothers, Paul and Kenneth Gerard.
