Harold "Dick" Evans, 70, of Winterset, died Friday, March 15, 2013 in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastors Ray Block and Doug Van Wey officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Harold Richard Evans, son of Harold Price and Cora Mae (Masterson) Evans was born on May 11, 1942 in Webster City. He attended Stanhope High School and served his country in the United States National Guard. Dick started driving truck on the farm at the age of 8. He was a truck driver for 54 years in the United States and Canada for Hove Truck Line, Decker Truck, Umthum Trucking, Davis Truck Line and many more. On February 14, 1965, he married Jean Clydene Rex at the Ellsworth Methodist Church. The couple later divorced. Survivors include his children, Reginald "Reg" (Leslie) Evans of Mesa, AZ, Richard "Rex" (Debra) Evans of Webster City and Raejean (JD) Merritt of Winterset; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters; Betty VanDePol of Norwalk, Roberta (Jack) Klingborg of Cherokee and Rosemary (Michael) Shaw of Rathdrum, ID; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy. He was a member of the Stanhope Parish, Iowans for Israel and the Christian Truckers Association.
