Frank D. Peterson, 75, of Webster City, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Frank Dean Peterson, son of Howard and Velma Schroeder Peterson, was born October 13, 1935 on the Eagle Valley Farm, south of Holmes. He graduated from Clarion high school and attended Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army. On March 29, 1957, he married Judy Woodin at Clarion. The couple resided in Webster City where he was the manager of the United Cooperative. They were later divorced. He was also in the trucking business as an owner/operator and drove for John Symens. For the past 20 years, he has driven for Van Diest Supply. He retired in December 2010 due to failing health. Frank is survived by daughter and friend, DeAnne Peterson and Tim Smith of Clarion; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchel and Kerri Peterson of Ames; Rick and Tami Peterson of Webster City; grandchildren, Joseph Wyllie; Elizabeth Murphy and spouse, Bob; Max and Sam Peterson; Caitie and Emily Peterson; sisters, Carolyn Bowman (Denny) of Clarion; Phyllis Mossman (Dave) of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother in infancy, Howard Eugene Peterson and sister, Patricia Melhus. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and American Legion Post # 191.
