Frances Wood, 90, of Webster City, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at her daughter's home in Webster City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. Stephen Meyer, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and at the church prior to the Mass. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 p.m. Friday followed by a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Frances Mary Julich, daughter of Fred and Frances Kries Julich, was born December 2, 1921 at Maple River, Iowa. She received her education at the Vinton School for the Blind and the Iowa Braille and Sight. On December 29, 1947, she married Charles Clayton Wood at the St. Francis Catholic Church at Maple River. The couple resided at Webster City then Coralville and returned to Webster City in 1960. She was a homemaker. Mr. Wood died August 20, 1986. Mrs. Wood is survived by sons and daughters and their spouses, Charlotte Wood Gilbertson of Grants Pass, OR; Joseph Wood of Charlottesville, VA; Margaret and Doug Crosby of Cedar Rapids; Frances and Tim Brown of Lebanon, MO; Marianna and Mike Bryan, James and Lisa Wood, Arthur Wood, all of Webster City; Rachel Wood of Fort Dodge; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Maurice (Mary Lou) Julich of Breda; sisters, Sylvia Nagl of Carroll; Monica (Don) Heires of Waterloo; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Julius Bryan; brothers, Richard, Phillip, Paul, John, Larry, Englebert, Julian, Edmund and Fritz Julich. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, National Federation for the Blind and Iowa Council for the Blind.
