Esther Iles, 86, of Webster City, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Graceland Cemetery with Rev. Jay Amundson officiating. Following the services at the cemetery, there will be a time of food and fellowship at Asbury United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation. Esther Mae Fortune, daughter of Bernie and Beatrice Lee Fortune was born October 8, 1926 in Webster City. She attended schools in Stanhope, Homer and graduated from Stratford High School in 1944. On August 15, 1948, she married Harold Iles in Homer, Iowa. The couple resided in Webster City. She worked various jobs including Hahne Printing. Esther is survived by her husband Harold, her daughter and son-in-law, Trudy (Ken) Huisman of Des Moines; her son and daughter-in-law, Brad (Nancy) Iles of Webster City; four grandchildren, Dennis Bown, Traci Gordon, Eric Iles, and Joel Iles; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Logan, Nevaeh, and Damion; her brother, DaWayne (Maxine) Fortune of Stanhope and many nieces and nephews. Esther was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a very active volunteer with Senior Dining. She belonged to the Card Club and enjoyed playing 500. Esther is preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to Congregate Meals in Webster City.
