Emma Schaa, 90, of Jewell, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Private family services will be held at a later date. Emma Gladys Schaa, daughter of George and Harmke Luppes Schaa, was born on May 5, 1923 in Hamilton County. She is survived by her niece, Laurinda (Bruce) Smith of Jewell and their children, Jennifer and Nicholas Smith. Emma was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John E. and Herman I.
