Elmer J. Jenkins, 86, of Webster City, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak, Iowa. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Elmer J. Jenkins, son of Luther and Ollie Custer Jenkins, was born November 11, 1925 at Eucha, OK. He received his education in Oklahoma and served with the U.S. Navy during W.W. II in the South Pacific. On May 25, 1946, he married Millie Arlene Hutchings at Bristow, OK. The family resided at Red Oak for 40 years, he owned and operated a Standard Service Station and was employed by Parker Hannifan (Uniroyal) for 17 years until his retirement. They moved to Webster City in 1989, then moved back to Red Oak and returned to Webster City in 2001. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Millie; daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Stu Berns of Webster City; grandchildren, Sarah and Aimee Gauthier; Shantel (Brian) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Lila Bowman; Eden Gauthier; several brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Majel and Twyla Jenkins; several brothers and sisters. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the Twins and Cubs. Most of all he loved his family. Graveside committal services will be held Monday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak.
