Duane Lenning

Duane Virgil Lenning, 72, of Peyton, CO, formerly of Webster City, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Life Care Center of Colorado Springs. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Duane Virgil Lenning, son of Virgil and Margaret (Desher) Lenning was born on November 7, 1939 in Webster City, Iowa. On June 10, 1986, Duane was united in marriage to Sharon (Noble) Underwood in Council Bluffs. He enjoyed fishing, country music, car races, reading, especially Louie Lamour westerns and was a past Golden Gloves winning boxer. Most of all, Duane loved to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Peyton, CO; his children, Ken (Allison) Underwood of Peyton, CO, Dean Underwood of Webster City, Jackie Laube, Julie Lenning of Dennison, TX, Melodie Messenger and her fiancé Tom Shea of Castle Rock, CO, and Melissa (Dan) May of Northboro, IA; his sister, Shirley (Bob) Geerts of Morrison, IL; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his aunts, Alice McCoy of Webster City, Louise Mason of Webster City and Maria Lenning of Jewell; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
