Dorothy M. Krejci, 88, of Stratford and a former Webster City resident, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City with her loving family around her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Pastors Dot Hasler and Gina Spohnheimer officiating. Private family burial will be held at the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon, Iowa. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dorothy Mae Walsh daughter of George and Lilly Inman Walsh was born on December 25, 1923 in What Cheer, Iowa. She received her education from the New Sharon Community Schools. Dorothy moved to Eldora in 1951, where she worked for a retail store. On January 11, 1953, she married Robert Louis Krejci in Eldora. The couple moved to Oskaloosa in 1956 and in March of 1962, they moved to Webster City, where they helped open United Food Store, which later became HyVee. She retired from HyVee in 1989. The couple moved to Stratford in 1990. Mr. Krejci died on November 19, 2011. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Joe Black of Jackson, MN; grandchildren, JoDee Olson (Josh) and Ryan Black (Katie); three great grandchildren, Ella and Grace Black and Steiger Olson. In addition to her loving husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Randels and her parents. Dorothy was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford. She liked to travel, dance and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren's activities.
