Doris Chicken, 91, of Webster City, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday. Doris Annettie Lundquist, daughter of Victor and Nettie Sealine Lindquist, was born December 22, 1921 on a farm southwest of Stanhope. She received her education in Stanhope, graduating in 1939. On February 21, 1941 she married Carl (Bill) Chicken Jr. in Grant City, Mo. The couple farmed in the Stanhope area moving to Webster City in 1980. They continued to farm until Bill's retirement in 1982. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1988. Doris is survived by daughters, Shirley Moen of Webster City and Linda (Don) Thompson of Iowa Falls; grandchildren, Kathryn Moen of Cedar rapids, Kenny (Kellie ) Moen of Badger, Kent (Cindy) Thompson of Independence, Sheri (Jason) Greenfield of Smithville, MO, and Amy (Brian) Grant of Oltha, KS; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Conrad Lundquist and Eldred Lundquist, her sister, Marie Nelson; her son-in-law, Richard Moen and her niece, Elizabeth Lundquist. She attended the Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing and her favorite pastime was crocheting.
