Donald R. Watts, 76, of Story City, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Bethany Life Communities at Story City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Chapel, with Chaplain Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center one hour before the service. Donald Ruben Watts, son of William and Ethel Stroup Watts, was born October 4, 1935 at Cresco, Iowa. He received his education in the Cresco Public School. On January 11, 1960, he married Madeline Audrey Farr at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple resided at Waterloo. For 17 years, he was employed in a cattle and turkey operation for Hubert and Paul Hill. The couple later divorced. On December 13, 1980, he married Kay Harvey at Manchester, Iowa. He had also worked at Trumps I - 35 and the Oak Café in Iowa Falls. He had resided at Bethany Life Communities since July 22, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Kay; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwain and Erica Watts of Story City; William and Beth Watts of Ellsworth; Allen and Sharon Watts of Ellsworth; daughters and son-in-law, Angela and Richard Nelson of Ellsworth; Ann Gardner of Webster City; step-sons, Dennis Bittner of Rapid City, SD; Kenny Bittner of Marshalltown; step-daughter, Karla Bittner of Lebanon, MO; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Watts of Waterloo; Arthur (Grace) Watts of Rockford, IL; sisters, Mildred Olson of Meredosia, IL; Louise Sweaney of Iowa Falls; several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Watts in November of 1998; sister, Viola Kerr and brother, Richard Watts. He attended church at Bethany Life.
