Donald Swensson

Donald L. Swensson, 80, of Webster City, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center at Fort Dodge. There will be no funeral services. Burial will be in the Riverside National Cemetery at Riverside, California. Donald Lester Jonas Swensson, son of Lester and Rhoda Bengston Swensson, was born May 15, 1931 at McPherson, KS. He graduated from high school at Rock Island, IL. He Served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. On May 10, 1958, he married Joyce C. at Las Vegas, NV. They resided at Indio, CA until 2002. He had worked with the Southern California Gas Company as an appliance representative for 32 years. Joyce died May 5, 2002. He moved to Lindsborg, Ks and in January of 2005, he moved to Webster City. Donald is survived by daughter, Faye Mullin of Tavares, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Esther Swensson of Joshua Tree, CA; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Eldon Swensson of Lindsborg, KS; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Jerret Mullin; sisters, Carol Jantz and RoCeleste Swensson and sister-in-law, Dee Swensson. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Main Street Kiwanis.
