Don Sharar, 61, of Webster City died Monday June 29, 2020 at MercyOne in Des Moines. A potluck gathering to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 3pm – 5pm Sunday July 5, 2020 at Kendall Young Park. Bring a drink, a lawn chair (so we can social distance) and memories to share. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for the family.
Donald Leroy Sharar, son of Bill and Dorothy Mittlestadt Sharar, was born January 11, 1959 in Des Moines. He grew up in Williams. Don served his country in the United States Marine Corp. On September 9, 1995 Don was united in marriage to Janine Malmstrom at Kendall Young Park. Over the years, Don had worked as a farm hand, truck driver and for a construction company.
He is survived by his wife, Janine; children, Amanda Sharar and Daniel Sharar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Greg and Jan Malmstrom; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jill and Keith Thomason; niece, Abbie Thomason; his best friends, Barb Allbee and Wade Heiden.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Bill, and Dorothy Sharar; and brother, Dennis Sharar.
