Donald J. Bryant, 78, of Webster City, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. Stephen Meyer, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with a scripture service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Donald Junior Bryant, son of Donald and Edith Clark Bryant, was born February 15, 1933 at Keokuk, Iowa. He received his education at Keokuk. During the Korean War (March 1953 to June 1955), he served in the U. S. Army - 31st Infantry Headquarters Company in Korea. He also served eight years in the Army Reserve. Following his discharge, he worked at a dairy products processing plant at Keokuk. A majority of his working life was spent in road construction as a heavy equipment truck driver. On July 5, 1980, he married Elizabeth A. (Betty) Pickle at Des Moines. The couple moved to Webster in that year. Betty died April 14, 2005. He continued to reside in Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #838, American Legion Post # 191, Disabled American Veterans andwas manager/director of the U-Share program in Webster City.
