Carolyn Ruth Dilley, age 74 passed away at her home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 after battling cancer. Carolyn Ruth Thompson was born August 27th, 1938 in Hayward, California to Willard and Evelyn Thompson. Carolyn wed Dale Dilley in Norwalk, California. They resided in Belleflower, California until moving to Webster City in 1983, eventually settling in Stanhope until her passing. Carolyn was very family oriented and multi-talented. She and Dale owned and operated a trucking business in California, loved to garden and did her own plumbing, electrical and construction work. Carolyn is survived by her husband Dale, daughter Linda (Kevin) Fletchall, son Robert (Kaylene) Dilley, all of Webster City, daughter-in-law Elaina Johns of Williams, 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Clifford and Bruce, sister Barbara, brother-in-law Sherman, niece Debra and granddaughter Cristina. A gathering in honor of her memory will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Stanhope Community Center, 600 Main Street, Stanhope, Iowa.
