Ardath Fowler, 95 of Webster City, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams with Father Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Ardath A. Ritter, daughter of August and Anna Miller Ritter, was born on December 17, 1918 at the farm home in Wright County near Big Wall Lake. Ardath attended a country school, Dows High School and graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1936. She married Francis (Bud) Willard Fowler on March 2, 1937 in Williams. The couple farmed northeast of Blairsburg for 51 years. Bud preceded her in death on May 26, 1969. She moved to Webster City in 1988. She had been a resident at Crestview since February, 2007. Ardath is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra and Paul Plager of Rochester, MN; Karen and James Grove of Grimes, IA; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters, sister-in-law, Bessie Ritter of Clarion; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ronald, Harley and Merlin Ritter; two sisters, Ranny Bell and Geneva Ferrell, and a special friend, Oscar Hames. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams. She belonged to many coffee groups, the Octopus Card Club and the Needlecraft Club.
